| Excerpt | Having a European filiations for more than a century, the Suţu family made, apart from the Romanian and Greek marriages, many occidental unions like the Broglie, d’Harcourt, de Prat, Schoch, von Strautz, Verbrugge van’s Gravendeel and Werbrouck, all tight connect with the original family. One of the most interesting genealogies is the one who started with the marriage between Alexandrina Alexandru Suţu and Belgian baron, Edmond of Werbrouck, in 1874. The Alexandrina Alexandru Suţu descendants wore the Werbrouck name and made a lot of alliances with the European gentility, having the economic power through the Bardon of Segonzac, Volpelières d’Escombreras, d’Huart, Knÿff, Marçay, Meurs, Nothomb or Beauchamp families.
