The term of vlastelin (plural vlasteli) was used from the beginning of the l h XV century in the documents of the kings of Hungary destined to the Monasteries of Oltenia (the west part of the country). It appeared in the documents of Wallahia from the end of century, borrowed from the serbs chancellery. Beside the names of some jupans, noblemen with title among the greatest boiars, and was bestowed in t h the first half of the XVI century to the most important boiars. In the second half of century the term lost his meaning and was bestowed to the boiers intimate to the voievods. |
