Excerpt | In the Modern Epoch Manuscripts and Printings Collection of the National History Museum of Romania there is a lot of documents (dating from the late 18th century and the first part of the 19th century and written in Romanian with Cyrillic characters) which concern the Micşuneşti manor, one of the historical monuments of the Ilfov County, and the estate on which it was built in the second half of the 18th century. Little historical information has so far been known about the Micşuneşti estate and manor. Using the above mentioned documents, what this article aims is to briefly outline a history of the manor and the estate from after the death of Iordache Micşunescu, the one who built the manor, and until both properties changed owners, following the extinction of the Micşunescu family’s male line. |
