Excerpt	The King Alexandru Ioan Cuza showed a constant care for the reinforcement of national defense. This was a major line of his politics. The military measures took by the Alexandru Ioan Cuza during 1862-1866 contributed to a better organization of the Romanian army, increased the power and the prestige of it. The results of his actions will be successfully proofed on the battle field, in the South of Danube, during the Independence War of Romania (1877-1878).
